Scott Baker's relationship with computing started in the 1980s — summer school at Haverford Preparatory School, a Mac SE/30, and HyperCard. That early instinct for building interactive systems never left.
In the early 2000s he ran his own architectural design firm, working closely with attorneys on contracts, agreements, and legal documentation. He watched them rely on LexisNexis to search and retrieve case law and legal records — expensive, cloud-dependent, and entirely outside the firm's control. That memory stayed with him.
When he began building a Rust-based RAG system years later and looked for the right market to apply it, legal firms came immediately to mind. He knew the problem firsthand: lawyers need fast, accurate document search across sensitive privileged material — and every existing solution requires sending that material to someone else's servers. That gap is what RusticAgentic was built to close.
Since late 2022, long-term disability has ended Scott's ability to work onsite. Rather than stepping back from engineering, he stepped all the way in. With nothing but time and the discipline to use it, he has spent those years in a level of technical immersion that a conventional career simply does not permit — mastering Rust, C23, CUDA, post-quantum cryptography, distributed systems, cloud architecture, and AI pipeline engineering from first principles.
The result is RusticAgentic — a platform that could only be built by someone who understood the client's problem from the inside, had the time to own every layer, and had the discipline to build it right.
